Marketing to the Adult Student
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending and hosting a round table discussion at the International CAEL Conference in Philadelphia. It was a great conference with over 500 in attendance, and, as always, it is so nice to be at a conference that is focused toward adults.
In speaking with the Director of Marketing and Communications for CAEL I learned that this was the first year that CAEL had added a track that was specifically related to marketing to the adult student population. Her feedback was that it was a huge success with people actually having to stand outside the rooms at times due to the huge turnout!
My own experience at my round table session was that there is a heightened awareness among those who work with adult focused programs (undergraduate or graduate) about the need to market better and more effectively than ever. Is this becoming a more common theme as our market for adults becomes more competitive?
