I’m thrilled to announce that the 2011 Stamats Adult Student Marketing Conference will be held this year at The Buttes Resort in beautiful Tempe, Arizona. Please mark your calendars now for February 15 – 17th and plan to join us for this great event.
As I am busily putting the finishing touches on the program schedule I am particularly excited to be able to bring to you sessions that focus on issues that you requested at last year’s conference. Understanding the absolute necessity that institutional Websites are to our adult students (as well as the fact that many of you do not have the budget or the institutional “big stick” to redesign your entire site) we will be hosting a pre-conference session that focuses on tactics to use to get your current website into shape. Also adding to the conference will be sessions focusing on entrepreneurial thinking in relation to increasing enrollment, helping adults to better understand the mysteries of financial aid, and a great learning opportunity with a leader from a for-profit institution.
While the sessions are great, and the learning is rich, for those of us who have attended these conferences we will all admit that one of the main benefits comes from the networking. It is uncommon at a higher education conference to stand in a room full of people who only think of adults when they think of college students. The shared wisdom and experience among this group is unparalleled and adds a huge benefit to the attendees of this event.
If you are new to the world of working with adult students or a seasoned veteran I will guarantee you that you will walk away from this conference with a list of action items and new ideas to take back to your institution.
